Abstract

The myth, the rite, the party, the ludic are an important part in the construction of culture from a town. The P'urhépecha culture has a large part of these traditions
making it one of the richest cultures that can exist. Maybe one of the most important holidays is the new year. In this article, the Lic. In Administration
Public, José Merced Velázquez Pañeda, from the Center for Documentation and Studies P'urhépechas and member of the Council of Freighters of the Lighting of the New Fire
P'urhépecha de Cherán, presents us with a historical and experiential journey of what it means the New Year's party in the P'urhépecha region.
