Uaricha, Revista de Psicología was founded in 2003 as an organ for the dissemination of academic and research work in psychology. The editors who have contributed to strengthening the magazine are listed below: María de Lourdes Vargas Garduño, José Morales González, Alfredo Emilio Huerta Arellano, Ferran Padrós Blázquez, Mónica Fulgencio Juárez and Roberto Oropeza Tena.

María de Lourdes Vargas was the founding director. Since the magazine’s creation Maria de Lourdes Vargas assumed the responsibility of promoting a magazine that adhered to national and international quality standards and requirements. Two years after its publication, the journal had an ISSN registration to gain access to the recognition of the different indexing systems. In 2009, under the editorial direction of Alfredo Emilio Huerta, the magazine was assigned to the Latindex and Clase indexes.

From 2010 to 2015, María de Lourdes Vargas retook the direction of the magazine. From number 22 (2013) to number 29 (2015) the journal worked with the editorial figure of the guest editor. Working together with Academic bodies, the guess editor summoned professors, researchers, students, and other teams to participate in the publication of articles with specific themes opening the discussion to different lines of research. Each thematic issue allowed us to gain insight into the intervention of psychology and the convergent analysis of various theoretical positions within the same theme.

In February 2017, Mónica Fulgencio Juárez was appointed as director. She developed a renewed editorial project. The editorial policy adhered to the standards or guidelines of various indexes, such as the CONACyT Mexican Journal Classification System. Additionally, double-blind reviews were implemented.

In June 2018, Roberto Oropeza Tena was invited as general editor of the magazine. He maintains the editorial policy of receiving articles without invitation. Since 2018 the Open Journal System (OJS) page has continuously been improved and updated. It is currently on its the third version. New review formats were developed for the different types of articles. An editorial committee was defined that included academics from both the Faculty of Psychology and other universities in the country. Regarding the reviewers, a greater number of external participants were invited than internal ones, to avoid academic inbreeding.
To better identify the different participating authors the use of ORCIDs was implemented. The first 12 volumes were uploaded in full. Starting with the disaggregation of each of the individual documents in the previous volumes. The aim was to increase the quality of the published research, being much more rigorous in the double-blind peer review and in complying with all the elements of the article. The editorial process modified to make it clearer for the authors.

In the year 2021, a new era for Uaricha, Revista de Psicología begins, reconfiguring all its characteristics, its logo, image, and editorial format.
Aditionally there is more diversity in the types of articles that can be published. The different committees have strengthened existing ones. We have seeker both nationalization and internationalization. The continuous and annual periodicity has been achieved. Finally the editorial body looks to comply with new quality standards. Hoping that this will result in the assignation to new indexes. Finally, the magazines presence in social media was stablished

So far , Uaricha, Revista de Psicología has 18 volumen. In this trajectory, various themes and theoretical lines have found a place of convergence for their discussion that include clinical, social, educational, organizational and health psychology, among others.
