Single exam to enter the intermediate level higher. Opportunity or business?
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present paper analyzes the socioeconomic impact of the evaluation instrument created by the Centro Nacional de Evaluación para la Educación Superior, A.C. (CENEVAL) and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), known as Examen único para ingresar al nivel medio superior (EXANI) whose objective is to identify the knowledge, the abilities and the values that must show the graduates of the basic mean level. It is designed based on the standard decided by the Comisión Metropolitana de Instituciones Públicas de Educación Media Superior (COMIPEMS). The problem discussed in this article is if the exam really achieves its goal of providing equal opportunities for the students have to access to the institution at the mean superior level, if it is leading a business for public or private institutions engaged in "grooming" young people to pass the exam. It is based on the population design and application of the evaluation instrument and factors that affect the results of the unique examination. The testimony of two students who presented the EXANI is included.
