Resumen

En el presente trabajo se realiza una revisión sobre la nueva subdisciplina conocida con el término de Psicología Positiva. En una primera parte se define el concepto y los antecedentes históricos, y se aportan datos relativos al gran interés que suscita en la actualidad. Posteriormente, se describen los conceptos de bienestar psicológico y bienestar subjetivo (más operativos) que se utilizan para aludir al viejo tema de la felicidad, así como los principales modelos e instrumentos de medición más conocidos. En la última parte se describen algunos otros temas de estudio de la psicología positiva como son; las emociones positivas, la resiliencia, el crecimiento postraumático, la creatividad y finalmente, se alude al aspecto más aplicado y pragmático que ofrece la disciplina, que son las intervenciones que se han generado para aumentar el bienestar.
