Resiliencia: Aproximación histórica y conceptos relacionados

Resumen

En el interés por la etiología de trastornos mentales, los investigadores pioneros voltearon hacia los niños que a pesar de su alta vulnerabilidad se desarrollaron favorablemente. Este giro fue revolucionario en una época en la que predominaba la teoría psicoanalítica así como el modelo medico orientados a la enfermedad. La resiliencia es un amplio paraguas conceptual que abarca otras nociones relacionadas con patrones positivos de adaptación en el contexto de la adversidad. La investigación en resiliencia no ha sido estática, algunos estudios destacan la presencia de conceptos que a lo largo de cinco décadas han quedado en desuso. A pesar de la falta de definición universal y diversas críticas, la resiliencia ha resultado altamente resiliente, dejando a un lado conceptos que solo nacieron en favor de su génesis. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue examinar los conceptos de competencia, hardiness y ego resiliency que dieron origen al constructo de resiliencia.
